Santa Fe Balboa Club (SFBC)

Santa Fe Balboa Club (SFBC) is a branch of the Santa Fe Swing Dance Society (SFSDS) offering Balboa classes, practices, social dances, and workshops in Santa Fe, NM. SFBC was established in 2023. The club’s predecessor was Aaron & Yuliya’s Balboa in the Kitchen and their Balboa Racoons performance team (2021).

What is Balboa?

Balboa is a swing dance from Southern California. Balboa is typically for medium and fast tempos. Balboa is danced in close embrace (pure-Bal) with fancy footwork and in open embrace with turns and flashy moves (Bal-swing). Balboa can also be danced to slow tempos and blues music (slow-Bal).
