March 2025: Spring Swing Thing Social Dance

Join us for a beautiful night of swing dancing and live jazz music featuring the Burque Jazz Bandits!

COST: 20$ Before Midnight, Free After Midnight

8:30 pm-12:15 am Live Music
12:15 am-2:00 am Late Night DJs. Free entry after 12. Fusion dancers welcome for late night dancing!

THE BURQUE JAZZ BANDITS (BIO): Based out of Albuquerque, NM, the Burque Jazz Bandits bring you fun danceable swing music inspired by 1920’s-40’s hot jazz with toe- tapping rhythms, sizzling instrumentals, and passionate vocals. Formed in the local swing dance community, their shared love of early jazz brought the Bandits together, and they are: Amado, rhythm guitar; Racquelita, vocals; Arthur, violin.

November 2024: Breaking Bal(boa) Swing Night

Saturday, November 9th, 2024, 7:30-11:30 PM at Paradiso, Santa Fe, NM

$20 for general entry which included both the beginner lesson and social dance. 7:30pm class. 8:30 pm dance. (entry is included with Breaking Bal(boa) workshop all-access pass )

Mike and Emma taught a beginner-friendly swing dance class before our evening social dance with the Burque Jazz Bandits featuring Asher Barreras and Keith Cochrane. All attendees must adhere to our code of conduct and safe space policy. This is an inclusive safe space. If you have any issues, please speak to an organizer.

May 2024: Balboa & Blues Birthday Bash!!! for Josh and Galen

Friday, May 31st, 2024, 7:30-11 PM at Odd Fellows Hall, Santa Fe, NM

Dance party to celebrate Josh’s and Galen’s birthdays. DJ’d music will encourage Balboa & Blues, but feel free to dance whatever you feel. Expect pizza, refreshments, & birthday cake! Free entry. No lesson just social dancing.

March 2024: Swing Dance Party

Saturday, March 16th, 2024, 7-10 PM at Odd Fellows Hall, Santa Fe, NM

$15 for general entry ($12 for student entry) which includes both the class and the dance. 7pm class. 8 pm dance. (entry is included with the Lindy Hopkins workshop full-weekend pass )

February 2024: Balboa Dance Party

Saturday, February 24th, 2024, 7-10 PM at Dance Station, Santa Fe, NM

We offer a beginner-friendly Balboa dance crash course before a social dance with DJ’d music. Fast Lindy, Shag, Charleston, etc. are welcome and not to be discouraged. We provide light refreshments. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Clean up starts at 9:45pm. Doors lock at 10:00 PM.

$12 – $20 sliding scale per person, choose your own price. The sliding scale accommodates attendees from students to professionals. Additional financial assistance is available upon request.
